In all the other war movies I've seen, I feel angry, sad, proud but Saving Private Ryan elicits all these, simultaneously, and in much greater amounts. It's a huge shock every time I remember that this movie did not win the Oscar for best picture, but its irrelevant what it did and didn't win.
